Something to look forward to no? NetherRealm Studios

If you are a big Joker fan, then you will be stoked to know that NetherRealm Studios is working hard on bringing the character to Mortal Kombat 11. However, it should be noted that the Dark Knight’s number one nemesis is not coming until January.

As already announced, the studio is poised to bring the game's next DLC character named Sindel, who is expected to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch next month. From there, the Joker will be up next.

While it is expected for Sindel to enter the final stages of her development, NetherRealm Studios has already begun working on the DC Comics villain for Mortal Kombat 11. Interestingly, he has already been in some form of early development as of this writing. So far, the character is shaping up really nicely.

Mortal Kombat 11’s creative director, Ed Boon, revealed that he just recently saw an "early pass" at one of the character's fatal blows, which apparently is "dayum" levels of good. Of course, considering the fact that Boon is working on the game, he can really sound a bit biased. However, you cannot deny the fact that him talking about Joker, including how cool the character is in the game, is quite interesting.

There have been worries about bringing iconic licensed characters to Mortal Kombat 11. In this case, Joker is owned by DC Comics and, as such, NetherRealm Studios might not have the freedom to do what it wants with the villain. In other words, the developers will not be able to go over-the-top, like giving him a fighting style fitting of a Mortal Kombat game. But, if this tease is anything to go off of, it is safe to assume that DC Comics has given the studio the green light to do what is necessary for the character.

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Expect NetherRealm Studios to release more information about the Joker in the next few months, especially since his arrival is fast approaching.
