Injustice 2 has only been out a week but tier lists are already beginning to form, showing off which characters are most popular with players, as well as which characters are the best and worst in certain stat categories.
Of course, it’s very very early in the game’s life to know exactly where each character in Injustice 2 fits, but it’s interesting to see which fighters everyone is using and how the fighting game experts place them.
According to RankedBoost, there are five grades for fighters in Injustice 2 with F being the worst and S being the best.
Here’s how the Injustice 2 characters are graded as of May 22:
S-Tier: Captain Cold, Deadshot, Darkseid, Supergirl, Batman, The Flash
A-Tier: Brainiac, Cyborg, Dr. Fate, Harley Quinn, Black Adam, Scarecrow
B-Tier: Blue Beetle, The Joker, Gorilla Grodd, Robin, Firestorm, Poison Ivy
C-Tier: Superman, Swamp Thing, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Bane, Aquaman
D-Tier: Catwoman, Atrocitus, Wonder Woman
F-Tier: Black Canary, Cheetah
Just as a reminder, this tier list is bound to change as players invest more time into the game and figure out what works for each character. But this is a good indicator of how players are using characters in Injustice 2.
From the looks of the S-Tier, ranged characters are very popular. Captain Cold, Deadshot and even Darkseid (a pre-order bonus character) utilize plenty of ranged attacks.
Conversely, the F-Tier consists of Black Canary and Cheetah, two predominantly close-ranged fighters who would have trouble from the excellent zoning tactics of the characters in the higher tiers.
Eventhubs has also released metrics that reveal the top five characters based on community matchup votes. All characters start with a score of 140 and the data shows which characters are being used the most and who they are matched up against. Not surprisingly, four of the five are from the S-Tier.

Now, if you’re looking to customize your characters based on certain stats, for example equipping a purely defensive hero, you will want to know which characters excel in certain stats. The new Gear System helps players customize their fighters and certain gear helps characters excel in specific areas of battle.
RankedBoost also placed the Injustice 2 characters who have the best base stats in each category.
