Hearthstone announced that its latest expansion is coming, December 7. Titled Fractured in Alterac Valley, it features the battle between the Frostwolf orcs and the Stormpike dwarves in the icy battleground and the pieces of a fallen Naaru.
The two factions have long been locked in this eternal battle and are now calling for new Heroes in hopes of turning the tide in their favor. This upcoming expansion introduces a new Hero Card for each class. These heroes have powerful Battlecries and Hero Powers which are sure to shape the course of battle.
Like any new expansion, a new keyword is introduced and this time it’s “Honorable Kill.” Cards with this keyword give players a bonus effect if they can deal exact lethal damage in killing an enemy minion on their turn.
Fight for Honor
Once the new expansion is live, all players get the chance to fight for Honor to get free rewards and claim victory for their faction. From December 7 to January 11, players gain:
- 10 Honor for every game played.
- 10 more Honor for every game won.
- 20 more Honor for every game won versus an opponent from the enemy faction.
Honor is gained in Traditional, Arena, and Duels Modes. As players gain Honor, they climb the ranks within their faction and progress a Legendary Quest chain that takes them through the Alterac Valley battlefields and rewards cards from the expansion. Players who complete the Quest chain receive the same total end rewards, which include a Golden copy of the enemy faction’s leader. The order of the rewards depends on which faction players choose, to be revealed closer to release.
Once the event ends, Honor is tallied and the winning faction’s accomplishment is forever enshrined in Hearthstone. This is because every player receives a Diamond copy of the winning faction’s leader card (Drek’Thar or Vanndar).
