Halo Infinite is the next big entry in the long-running Halo franchise and as expected, players will want major improvements in every department. 343 Industries is aware of that, which is why they have improved the AI so that enemies will take advantage of their surroundings. Check out the gameplay demo of Halo Infinite below.

Head of Design at 343 Industries, Jerry Hook, said in an interview to Video Games Chronicle (VGC) that Brutes will throw normal Grunts at players. This should keep Chief on his toes and will also make for some funny moments. "The biggest thing you get with the Brutes that you don't generally see is that they pick up Grunts and throw them at the player," Hook said in the interview. "Could an Elite do that? No! A Brute could definitely do that."

You should expect lots of more interesting things than Grunts being thrown at you as well. Hook also claimed that the AI will take full advantage of the sandbox, like picking up and using different weapons from the ground.

"The Grunt toss is one of the key elements where you see the AI starting to take advantage of the sandbox that you haven't seen before," Hook added. "So you still have that great feeling of the AI taking advantage of shields and cover that was pretty critical to the Halo experience that we've had in the past, but we wanted to give them more. We wanted to give them more awareness of the sandbox itself and be able to use it. Don't be surprised if you see an AI go grab a different weapon to take you out."

We will be able to see all of this during the Holidays when Halo Infinite launches for the next-gen console Xbox Series X. Halo Infinite will also be available for Xbox One and PC. You can play the game for free if you own an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
