Players have been waiting for Half-Life 3 for decades, and the developers of the popular Half-Life series officially announced a new VR game, Half-Life: Alyx, today. The new VR game is touted as the developer’s flagship VR title, which will be fully revealed on November 20 at 1 PM EST.

It’s been 12 years since the release of the last Half-Life game, Half-Life 2, which ended quite dramatically, keeping players wishing and hoping for another sequel. It’s been 12 years now and there have only been rumors and talks, but no signs of a new sequel to the game.

It is a possibility that Half-Life: Alyx will be a Valve Index exclusive, but nothing can be said with all certainty until the game is officially revealed on November 20.

The title of the game, Half-Life: Alyx might already be ringing some bells among a few gamers. If you played Half-Life 2, you must remember that Alyx refers to Half-Life 2 protagonist Gordon Freeman’s ally Alyx Vance.

Valve is known for creating some of the most influential and critically acclaimed games in the gaming industry. However, many of their supposed trilogies were never finished. After releasing Half-Life and Half-Life 2, the company went on to create Half-Life: Episode 1 and Half-Life: Episode 2, and since then there has been no third episode or game in the prestigious series. However, Valve went on to create new franchises, which have yet to see a new game that completes their own trilogy. This includes Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 2.

Everything you need to know about Half-Life: Alyx will be able uncovered at 1 PM Eastern Time on November 20. Although it’s not the game we were expecting, we are still excited to see something from Valve.
