The film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set for release in theaters across the US this Friday. In celebration, a new cinematic Champion Reveal trailer has been launched on Marvel Contest of Champions and it's inspired by this upcoming movie. The new trailer introduces two new Champions: Adam Warlock and Moondragon.

Players can also choose one of the Guardians of the Galaxy to be part of their roster for a limited time starting May 5. These include Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, or Mantis.
You can watch the new trailer below:

Going back to the two new Champions, how did they become involved in the battle? It all started when the Guardians of the Galaxy were asked to protect the powerful World Seed and they decided to do it somewhere in a cozy corner of deep space. However, the team suddenly find themselves not only rescuing Moondragon but even arguing with Adam Warlock.

The Perfect Sovereign

The Sovereign are an advanced race that while meticulously designed, are considered as arrogant in nature. Each Sovereign was created in birthing pods through genetic engineering. Among those created, it was Adam Warlock that was seen as faultless and powerful. It was actually High Priestess Ayesha who created Adam with the goal of being the perfect Sovereign and the one responsible to put an end to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Powerful Telepath

Moondragon's story started with the death of her father at the hands of none other than the Mad Titan Thanos. Then known as Heather, she was adopted by the Eternals on Saturn's moon Titan, where she honed her latent physical, spiritual, and telepathic abilities.

Moondragon joins The Contest on May 11 while Adam Warlock arrives on May 25.

New Update

In addition to Adam Warlock and Moondragon, Update V39.0 also features the monthly event titled "Escape from Titan."

In this one, Titan is under attack not by Thanos but instead by Drax and friends, and it has to do with Moondragon. Each path and fight that a player chooses determines the next set of encounters' buffs and debuffs. Help Moondragon escape Titan by defeating each encounter.
