Fortnite officially released Season 9, and with it comes an all-new new Battle Pass. While optional, players who go for the BP get a chance to unlock a lot of rewards.

The BP is not free, and can be unlocked for 950 V-Bucks or around $9.50. Getting the basic BP package, players immediate receive access to two progressive outfits. The first is Rox, with the second one being the Gundam-like Sentinel. As if that's not enough, players also get the Double Axe Harvesting Tools that they can use to take down the many structures in the game.

The Battle Bundle, meanwhile, costs 2,800 V-Bucks, which is around $28. The Battle Bundle gives the same items as those available in the basic version, with the addition of the Bunker Jonesy skin. This is because the Battle Bundle instantly unlocks up to 25 tiers. For those who decide to settle for the basic package, this skin unlocks at Tier 23.

Higher tiers give access to additional skins like Vega (Tier 47), Stratus (Tier 71), Demi (Tier 87), and Vendetta (Tier 100).

If you do get tired of progressing through the season, each tier is available for 150 V-Bucks.

Other rewards up for grabs with the Battle Pass include the Yay! Emote, Cursed Wrap, Neo Tubes Contrail, Field Flyer Glider, Afterburner, and the Bunker Basher Harvesting Tool.

One feature that Battle Pass owners can look forward to is Fortbytes. These are collectible computer chips that are scattered across the map for players to find. As each Fortbyte is gathered, players are able to decrypt a mysterious image. Collecting all Fortbytes allows players to unlock rewards and reveal what secrets are hiding for Season 9. At the start of Season 9, 18 Fortbytes are available for players to find and collect. After that, one new Fortbyte is unlocked each day. To know what Fortbytes are available, players simply need to check the Challenges Tab.

In addition to the Battle Pass, the new season also brings a number of changes to the game. Instead of Retail Row and Tilted Towers, there is now the Mega Mall and Neo Tilted. Where the Volcano was before, there is now the Pressure Plant.

The Slipstream wind transportation system is a new addition to the game. These are wind tunnels that players can travel through. There's also some bonus good news for many players: the Combat Shotgun and Grenades have made a return.
