Fallout 76 is more than ready to launch the Steel Dawn Update this December. It’s going to mark the return of the Brotherhood of Steel to Appalachia. There’s also going to be a new questline where players meet with the Brotherhood and learn more about why they are back and how to help them.

The development team recently came out with some updates on what players can expect with the new expansion. You can watch it below:

If you didn’t manage to watch it, not to worry as we have the quick highlights of that reveal. As a start, Design Director Mark Tucker revealed that the update is going to offer a quest line that’s completely dedicated to the Brotherhood of Steel. He went on to say that “it’s the first half of an overarching story the will complete next year.” The update doesn’t’ have the same amount of new content that Wastelanders offered, but Tucker guaranteed that the quality is there.

Tucker also shared that the reason why they chose to focus on the Brotherhood of Steel for this update was that for many players, this is always the first faction that comes to mind when thinking about Fallout.

Speaking about the Brotherhood of Steel, Lead Quest Designer Brianna Schneider said that players can expect to meet Paladin Leila Rahmani, the Leader of the Brotherhood First Expeditionary Force in Appalachia. She’s going to be accompanied by the Knight Daniel Shin along with Scribe Odessa Valdez.

So what’s the Brotherhood doing anyway, and why are they here? It seems that they’re checking the remains of the Atlas Observatory, which is something that they may turn into a base. Over the course of the quest, Schneider added that players are going to discover more about what’s really going on with the Brotherhood and the Atlas Observatory.

With the new update, players can also expect new weapons and armor. Tucker teased about the Hellstorm Launcher which deals elemental damage. There’s also the new melee weapon known as the Plasma Cutter, which Tucker says players are sure to appreciate. In addition to the Brotherhood, players can also expect to meet new NPCs and even quite possibly new enemies.

Then there’s also two new allies. The first is Solomon Hardy, a medic that players can ask to heal wounds or diseases. There’s also Yasmin Chowdhury, a chef that’s going to cook a meal for players once a day, especially if they’re hungry.

Looks like there’s going to be a lot of exciting things coming to Fallout 76. The wait for the Steel Dawn update isn’t that long either, so that’s added good news.
