Tour 3 has finished, and now, the qualified Dota 2 teams are preparing for the PGL Arlington Major. The tournament starts on August 4, with the Grand Final scheduled on August 14.

For some teams, it's a fight for money since they already obtained a direct invite to The International 2022. For the rest, it's a fight not only to get that direct invite but to avoid the possibility of being eliminated at the qualifiers and not attending the annual Dota 2 event.

The format of the Arlington Major is your standard Dota 2 tournament. At the Group Stage, the 18 teams are divided into two groups of nine. They're going to play in a single-round robin and all matches are Bo2.

At the end of the Group Stage, the top four teams of each group advance to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs. Meanwhile, teams in fifth and sixth places in each group proceed to the Lower Bracket, and the remaining teams are eliminated.

The Playoffs will be a double-elimination bracket with all matches in Bo3, except for the Grand Final in Bo5.

Not everyone can get prizes and DPC points. For the Arlington Major, these are distributed as follows:

  • 1st place
    • Prize: $200,000
    • DPC Points: 820
  • 2nd place
    • Prize: $100,000
