Developer Motion Twin is back at it again, this time with a major content drop for its critically-acclaimed title, Dead Cells. With the Rise of the Giant DLC Pack coming to PC on March 28, players will be able to experience all-new cosmetics, enemy types, and maybe even a secret level if they are bold enough.

In recent patches, developer Motion Twin has made several major improvements to Dead Cells, including some extra features and quality of life additions. Dead Cells has also been re-optimized for Nintendo Switch, so players on that platform can expect better performance and a more stable gaming experience overall. However, despite Motion Twin’s dedicated and frequent support for the game, it has decided to take it a notch higher by releasing its first major DLC, Rise of the Giant.

Rise of the Giant adds 50 brand-spanking-new outfits for players to don as they adventure through the ever-evolving castle. The upcoming DLC pack also introduces 10 new enemy types for players to outwit, outmaneuver, or outlast, and a secret level for players to discover.

Since its release last August, Dead Cells has seen overwhelming success and a huge following of dedicated fans and players. The game itself belongs to the popular retro genre of Metroidvania-like Rogue-lites, but features innovative gameplay and some of the best and most original ideas to come to gaming in recent years. We’re not alone in our songs of high praise, either. Dead Cells turned quite a few heads during its highly-acclaimed release, winning over the hearts of the folks over at IGN, PC Gamer, GameSpot, and Rock Paper Shotgun.

Accolade after accolade come to Motion Twin and Dead Cells for a job well done.

Dead Cells won The Game Award For Best Action Game of 2018, beating star-studded competition like Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Capcom’s Mega Man 11, Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5, and even Bungie’s Destiny 2: Forsaken. Dead Cells seems to have done everything right - fast-paced action gameplay, a killer soundtrack that sets the mood, unique art direction reminiscent of the retro titles of gaming’s golden age, and more.

We’ve been enjoying Dead Cells since a few days after it launched last year, and we definitely can’t wait to get our hands on the the upcoming Rise of the Giant DLC Pack. The best part out of all of this? Motion Twin won’t be charging its players a single cent for the content release. That’s right - the expansion-level DLC will be available to all players in a free update on March 28.
