Call Of Duty: WWII players can get in the holiday spirit from Dec. 8 through Jan. 2 during the Winter Siege event. Activision detailed its highlight features on the WWII events page, and we’ll recap them for you below.

While Carentan was once a pre-order bonus, the event adds a limited-time winter version of the classic map to all multiplayer playlists. As seen below, the optional multiplayer Headquarters will be getting a makeover too. Check out all that white, fluffy goodness and the warmth given off by those Christmas lights!

A brand new Quartermaster named Captain Butcher will also dole out winter-themed items like uniforms, cosmetics and weapon variants. He’ll also sell Winter Siege Supply Drops. These replace Rare Drops and can be earned via challenges, post-match drops or by completing standard Orders. Payment in CoD Points is an option as well, but it’s not mandatory.

The advantages offered by all themed guns are XP-based, and there are plenty of outlets to unlock the new content in a way that’s most comfortable for you. One of the easiest methods is to talk to Major Howard, who will offer special orders to directly unlock a specific weapon variant once the task is complete. Brand new weapons like the Gewehr 43, STEN, Ice Pick, GPMG and Trench Knife will have variants that unlock as collection rewards or through Winter Supply Drops. One of these drops will be given away for free each week.

The featured mode for Winter Siege is the long-awaited return of Gun Game. During certain points of the event, Gun Game and other modes will be offering double-XP rewards.

These features are expected to drop alongside new patches for both console and PC versions of Call Of Duty: WWII. We’ll detail the full patch notes for those fixes as soon as they’re revealed.

Call Of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Winter Siege event begins Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. EST and will run through Jan. 2.

While it’s not a perfect game, Call Of Duty: WWII knows the expectations it has to meet and hits almost every single one of them fairly well.
  • Action-packed campaign
  • Traditional multiplayer at its best
  • A more welcoming Zombies mode
  • Predictable story
  • Small multiplayer maps
