BlazBlue: Criss Tag Battle Rollback Netcode Support Arriving April 2022

Good news.
Good news. Arc System Works America

The rollback netcode support for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is arriving in April 2022 on the PC and PlayStation 4. There’s also a public test for the game’s Steam version starting February 23 at 6:00 p.m. EST.

All this was revealed and confirmed in a post by Arc System Works America, Inc.

What exactly is a rollback netcode? It's actually an important feature for fighting game fans. You see, gamers know that one of the problems encountered while playing is a delay. In fighting games, it's the delay between pressing the button and seeing the corresponding in-game action. It could also be the lag present in online connections. You get the gist.

The rollback netcode starts by treating the input of the players as local and their opponents as being remote. Instead of waiting for the data of the opponent to arrive, the system predicts what that opponent is going to do. If the system is correct, then the game proceeds smoothly. If not, then it makes adjustments and shifts to the right state. Overall, it’s about playing better.

For BlazBlue, Arc System Works America shared that fans can find these rollback netcode enhancements to online play helpful for control inputs. It also lets players across multiple regions fight with smooth matches.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle offers a roster of characters pulled from the BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH EXE: LATE, Arcana Heart, RWBY, Senran Kagura Estival Versus, and Akatsuki Blitzkampf universes. That game’s 2v2 tag-based combat is perfect for those who are fans of the genre.
