Publisher Atari and developer iLLOGIKa officially announced an October 13 release date for Atari Mania, coming to Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and Atari VCS. Atari Mania is a celebration of the classic Atari games priced at $24.99 across platforms. It will only be available digitally on Nintendo Switch. Besides the pricing reveal and the release date, Atari unveiled a new trailer for Atari Mania, which you check out below.

The new trailer for Atari Mania shows micro-remakes of various Atari classics, including Solaris. The trailer is also accompanied by chiptunes and 8-bit music highly reminiscent of the era, a sure treat for those hungry for Atari nostalgia.

Atari Mania is a microgame collection with an overarching theme: a journey through Atari’s various properties and decades-spanning history. As the “Caretaker of the Atari Vault,” you are tasked with watching over the storehouse of the retro-tastic Atari games. However, on a fateful night, a dead pixel appears, leading to chaos taking over the Vault. You must now journey through the Vault itself, finding and beating the familiar and beloved games that have begun to warp, mutate, and meld into a series of increasingly wild challenges.

Atari Mania features over 150 fast microgames to master, with killer combinations of well-known Atari properties waiting to be beaten. Solve puzzles, complete challenges, and beat the clock with fun Atari easter eggs to uncover along the way. As you advance further, runs of microgames become increasingly difficult, ultimately leading to a series of epic boss battles.

The collection features microgames inspired by classics like Asteroids, Yars’ Revenge, and Pong and Adventure. Most of the games have also been mashed up with one another, and you will find yourself beating down the Centipedes with a Pong paddle while being hunted by the iconic dragon from Adventure. Besides the clever easter eggs and the nostalgic art design and music, players will also have a chance to access fully playable versions of these classic Atari games by completing different challenges through the course of Atari Mania.
