Apex Legends officially kicked off its Iron Crown Collection Event. In this new event, players can expect the new Solos limited-time mode, Octane Town Takeover, and the special Iron Crown Collection Pack. Players even get the chance to complete exclusive event challenges that comes with free loot.
Limited-Time Mode – Solos
With this new event, Apex Legends is finally entering the Solo world. While the game has always been about being able to deliver a competitive, three-player squad experience, this LTM is hoping to see how players fare by themselves. According to Apex Legends Director of Product Management Lee Horn, the goal is always to have healthy matchmaking no matter what the mode is, and thus " it's too early to say whether Solos will be permanent or not, but we're going to watch and see what happens."
Octane Town Takeover
Octane has manage to take over part of Kings Canyon and in order to be able to make it suitable for his adrenaline-seeking tendencies, this same area has been remodeled. There is a mega jump pad course and even a Ring of Fire. This change is going to remain part of Kings Canyon even when the event ends. Horn revealed that if the community does enjoy these town takeovers, there could be more added in the future.
Iron Crown Collection Pack
Along with this new event, Apex Legends is adding Iron Crown Collection Packs, which gives players a 50% shot at an Epic item and a 50% shot at a Legendary item from a set of 24 themed items. No Commons, no Rares, and no duplicates are going to be included in these packs.
What this means is that if a player manages to unlock all 12 Epics and still have items remaining, they are guaranteed a Legendary on every future openng of an Iron Crown Collection Pack.
Iron Crown Event Store
This new event isn't just about new items. A new currency has been added called Crowns. These can be earned from completing challenges or by opening Iron Crown Collection Packs. Crowns can be spent at the limited-time event store and can be used to unlock Event-Limited Rare, Epic, and Legendary content.
While the event is online, players who unlock all 24 Iron Crown Collection Pack items get the Bloodhound’s Heirloom Set with Apex Coins. The Bloodhound Heirloom Set enters the standard Apex Pack bonus pool after the Iron Crown Preview Event ends.
Unspent Crowns are automatically converted to Crafting Metals at the end of the event. All Iron Crown Collection Packs and Iron Crown Store content are Event Limited.
Event Challenges with Free Loot
During the event players can complete a variety of challenges to earn two Iron Crown Collection Packs, exclusive Iron Crown event badges, and Crowns.
