A new Rovio London office has been announced to work on MMOs Rovio

Angry Birds developer Rovio is expanding, announcing plans for a new office in London on Tuesday. The office will be dedicated to developing MMOs for the company.

“We believe that the best game experiences are those that you share with other people,” said Mark Sorrell, the head of studio at Rovio, in a press statement. “So we’re starting a studio to do exactly this. We look forward to bringing a diverse team together to deliver unique MMOs that are creative, inclusive and delightful.”

Before you go making jokes about an Angry Birds MMO, the studio will be focusing on new IP beyond the Angry Birds universe. No information about any new project has yet been released, and the press statement doesn’t seem to clarify if the new MMO will be on PC or for mobile devices.

For those who happen to be looking for a new job in the Central London area, Rovio’s careers page can be found right here. Best of luck to the new studio, and we hope some good games will come from it.
