Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake Not Exclusive to PS5 Steam/Konami

Unless you've been living under a rock, you must be familiar with all the leaks related to remakes of Metal Gear Solid games. Heck, at one point, we believed that Bluepoint's next project was an MGS remake. Well, now a recent leak from a reputable source fills us and the fans with hope.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake

According to a recent report, the previously rumored Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake is not a PlayStation 5 exclusive and will launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S as well. The announcement of the title is expected to be made tomorrow during the PlayStation Showcase. Fans shouldn't expect any major gameplay reveals, though. A teaser trailer, on the other hand, seems very likely.

Previous Leak About Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake

Although a remake of MGS3 was rumored multiple times in the past, it was a report in October 2021 that really made the leaks credible. It claimed that the remake was being handled by Virtuos, a Singaporean studio that has helped in the development of various AAA titles. The studio, however, had never made any AAA game all by itself.

About the Series

Time hasn't been kind to the Metal Gear Solid IP. The last proper game by Kojima was MGS 5: Phantom Pain, released in 2015. Even though the game received critical acclaim, Kojima and Konami still went their separate ways, and their breakup wasn't clean. The former was stopped from receiving an award for the said game by the Japanese publisher. Konami did make one more MGS game called Metal Gear Solid Survive. However, it failed to capture the magic of the original games and was considered a disappointment by many fans.

Other IPs from Konami

Konami isn't just bringing Metal Gear Solid back from the dead. The Japanese publisher has also greenlit multiple new Silent Hill games, including a remake of Silent Hill 2. Several rumors also claim that Castlevania will also make a return in some form or another.
