A fan-favorite horror game is getting the remake treatment, and no, we aren’t talking about Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space. We are talking about Silent Hill 2, the game that gave nightmares to many teenagers.

Konami has green-lit a full-fledged remake of Silent Hill 2 for modern platforms. The game will use Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC. The trailer revealed that it will have a 12-month-long console exclusivity deal with Sony, and after that, an Xbox Series X|S port is possible.

The remake will be developed by the Polish studio Bloober Team. The said studio isn’t new to the horror genre as it has previously worked on titles, such as The Medium and Blair Witch.

Even though the remake doesn’t have a release window yet, its Steam and PlayStation Store pages are already up and running. You can’t pre-order the game right now, but you can wishlist it.

The Steam page reveals additional information. The developer mentioned the official PC system requirements of the remake, and boy, are they steep. Keep in mind that the title is currently in development, meaning that the requirements will most likely change.
