PlayStation's New Wireless Fight Stick, Gaming Monitor Are Coming This August—What to Expect

PlayStation's gaming ecosystem is expanding this August.

Sony has recently unveiled their new gaming ecosystem centered around the PlayStation 5, launching the new FlexStrike wireless fight stick and the new gaming monitor developed by the company.

All of these gaming peripherals are coming this mid-Summer.

PlayStation Unveils FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick

PlayStation shared a new blog post which introduces two new gaming peripherals, starting with the FlexStrike wireless fight stick that will launch this August 6.

The new arcade-like pad is perfect for fighting games like "Tekken 8" and the upcoming "MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls."

It is built for PS5 and PC and is designed with competitive play and portability in mind as it comes with an included sling carry case and a built-in rechargeable battery. This makes it easy for players to bring it to various places like when playing with friends elsewhere or when competing in a tournament.

This marks PlayStation's first foray into the wireless fight stick category, which has long been dominated by third-party controllers like 8BitDo and more. The FlexStrike being wireless out of the box is a notable selling point for competitive players who have previously had to deal with the limitations of wired fight sticks at events.

Pre-orders for the FlexStrike wireless fight stick will be available starting June 12 at a suggested retail price (SRP) of $199.99. Pre-orders will be available through direct.playstation.com and at participating retailers.

PlayStation's 27-Inch Gaming Monitor

The 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook, on the other hand, is built for players who want a high-quality display experience beyond the living room TV. It features a 27-inch QHD IPS display with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 and Variable Refresh Rate support, reaching up to 120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro and up to 240Hz on a compatible PC or Mac.

The DualSense Charging Hook is a practical touch for PlayStation 5 owners as it lets them hang their DualSense controller directly on the monitor when not in use, keeping the desktop clean and the controller charged at the same time.

The 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook will launch in the US and Japan on August 27. Pre-orders begin June 5 through direct.playstation.com and Best Buy in the US, as well as participating retailers in Japan, at a price of $349.99.

PlayStation's Gaming Peripherals Coming This August

The Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are also in the pipeline and will launch later this year. They share the same innovations found in the Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite headsets, with the goal of making gameplay more immersive through enhanced sound.

Sony noted that the Pulse Elevate will pair perfectly with the 27-inch Gaming Monitor, creating a richer desktop gaming setup for players outside the living room.

Pricing and pre-order details for the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers have not been shared from the latest blog post by Sony, but the upcoming State of Play in August may reveal more about the additional accessory.
