MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ Unveils New Handheld with Intel Arc G3
The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ is a premium Windows 11 PC gaming handheld engineered for uncompromising performance and extended playtime.
According to MSI, it was designed to satisfy the demands of players as it offers PC gaming experiences in a handheld form factor paired with console controller-type configurations that feel familiar and more precise to gamers.
At the heart of the device is Intel's brand-new Arc G3 Extreme processor, which MSI unveiled during a hands-on event at its headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan, ahead of Computex 2026. The Arc G3 Extreme is purpose-built for handheld gaming PCs and represents a significant generational jump from the Intel Lunar Lake chips found in MSI's previous Claw handhelds.
The Claw 8 EX AI+ also introduces the latest MSI Center M 2.0 software hub with Xbox Mode, designed to give players a clean, smooth, and intuitive interface that feels more like a console experience when plugged in or playing on the go.
A Cooler Boost Hyperflow thermal system is also included to keep temperatures in check during extended gaming sessions.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ Specs, Features, and More
The Claw 8 EX AI+ gets up to 32GB of memory, an 80Wh battery, and an eight-inch touchscreen display with a 1920x1,200 resolution running at a 120Hz refresh rate. For storage, the handheld comes with an updated SSD design that makes upgrading easier through an accessible M.2 2280 slot.
The device also features improved haptics compared to prior Claw handhelds, along with a redesigned button and joystick layout that MSI says is more ergonomic for longer play sessions.
Controller-like ergonomics with extra grip for long-session comfort gaming is a stated priority for the Claw 8 EX AI+, reinforcing that MSI is targeting players who want full PC flexibility without giving up the comfort of a traditional gamepad.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ Price Tag, Release Date
The Claw 8 EX AI+ is coming on June 23, but Engadget revealed that MSI has not yet officially revealed how much the handheld will cost. However, it is speculated to cost as much as $1,500.
This new speculated price is said to be the result of the new features, components, and overall build that comes with the new handheld. In comparison, the previous handheld from MSI was priced at $800.
Part of the higher cost reflects the broader component pricing surges in the market, especially with the ongoing global RAM and GPU shortage, which has put a premium on these components and affected the overall pricing in the industry.
