While Mellie Grant and Hollis Doyle would appear to be the candidates with dirty secrets, an episode 16 promo suggests the candidate in question might be Susan Ross.

Candidate drama isn’t the only thing Susan Ross has to deal with come Thursday. In episode 15 , she decided to end her relationship with David Rosen after discovering he was sleeping with another woman. She still does not know that the woman is Elizabeth North, her chief of staff.
David is still coming to terms with Susan leaving him. Previously, he was torn between Susan and Elizabeth, but by the time he decided to stay with Susan, she no longer wanted to be with him.
Meanwhile, Cyrus is no longer Chief of Staff. But he continues to groom Francisco Vargas as a Democrat candidate in the presidential race.
