Watch L.A. Noire's Cole Phelps Waste Time In VR With L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files just launched for HTC Vive and brings select missions from Team Bondi's detective-noir title, remade with new VR support and updated polish. The L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files , which arrived alongside the remastered version of the original game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, adds an interesting new level of interaction into the experience. And while the game has only been around for just over a week, it’s clear the players are having way too much fun with it.

Take this particular video, for example, from YouTube channel GTA Series Videos . Cole Phelps, ever strait-laced as he is, spends a whole lot of time doing nothing as he cavorts around, checking himself out in a mirror, wearing silly hats, picking noses, and generally making a nuisance of himself. It's all through the magic of VR, you know, and it's a collection of hilarious vignettes that'll probably sell you on playing this interesting new version of the game. While only a select few cases received VR-support for now, this fun response from players opens the door for future iterations going forward.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files ' missions were built specifically to support the HTC Vive's controllers, which are excellent when it comes to putting together finger-tracking moments. It makes for some sincerely hilarious segments in the game, which are half the fun.

For the uninitiated, L.A. Noire is an excellent detective saga that follows Phelps as he moves through the ranks, from traffic to vice to arson and back again, sailing through a detective career in Old Hollywood and all the things that come with it. While there’s no word of a sequel or additional expansions, it's telling that Rockstar Games recreated L.A. Noire dedicated to VR.

With raised interest surrounding the game now that a remaster is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch (and now the Vive), it would make sense for Rockstar to put together a brand new-entry in the L.A. Noire saga.
