After four days of intense esports action, the smoke has finally cleared in the PUBG Nations Cup 2022. Standing tall is none other than Team United Kingdom which defeated 15 other rosters and was named the Champion. This first-place finish allowed the team to bring home $100,000 and additional rewards through the Pick’em Challenge.

Team UK is composed of players Alex "vard" Gouge, Christopher "Fexx" Wheddon, Luke "TeaBone" Crafer, and Michael "mykLe" Wake. They are coached by Justin "MiracU" McNally.

The Road to Championship

Team UK had a strong start by getting the second win on the first day of the tournament. However, this pretty much put a target on their backs. Yet that didn't really bother them much and they got second place in Match 3 by getting 18 kill points. That would turn out to be the highest kill points for the first day of matches.

On the second day, the team picked up another win which ensured that they would be in the running for the title. During the third day, the team once again upped their game by getting one win and a total of 40 eliminations across five matches. On the fourth and final day, the team continued their strong performance with a win in Match 17.

In addition to the championship win, Vard was also named MVP with his 36 kill points throughout the tournament.

Other Winners

Following Team UK is Team Vietnam, which placed second and claimed $58,000. Third place was Team Brazil which took home $54,000. Finally, in fourth place was Team South Korea which claimed $44,000.

Team Finland meanwhile had a good start by winning Match 4 and Match 5 of Day 1. However, that was all they had to show off as the team had to settle for fifth place.

The PUBG Nations Cup 2022 was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 16 to June 19. It marked the return of teams playing in front of a live audience since the pandemic started. Unlike your typical PUBG tournament, the PNC had the top players chosen by their peers and served as the official representative of their region. This year, a total of 64 players coming from 16 territories across four regions took part in the tournament.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, Android, and iOS.
