PUBG Nations Cup is Back This Year with 16 Teams Headed to Bangkok

It's back!
It's back! Krafton

After a two-year break, the global PUBG: Battlegrounds esports event is back! The PUBG Nations Cup 2022 makes a return with 16 national teams fighting for their share of the $500,000 prize pool. The tournament is going to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 16 to June 19.

That’s not all. PUBG fans should be happy to know that the matches will be done in front of a live audience. Plus, Krafton announced that they’ll be distributing free tickets on-site at TRUE ICON Hall in ICONSIAM Mall. Since the venue can only accommodate a maximum of 1,200 spectators, the tickets will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Unlike other PUBG tournaments, the PNC has the top players being chosen by their peers to serve as the official representative of their region. That means only the most talented battle royale players get the chance at glory, and of course, a share of the prize pool.

A total of 64 players coming from 16 territories across four regions are participating in the tournament. These are:

  • Europe
    • United Kingdom
    • Finland
    • Germany
    • Turkey
  • Americas
    • United States
    • Canada
    • Brazil
    • Argentina
  • Asia-Pacific
    • Thailand
    • Vietnam
    • Indonesia
    • Australia
  • Asia
  • Korea
  • China
  • Japan
  • Chinese Taipei

Keep a Close Watch

Among different regions, it’s Europe that everyone is likely keeping their eyes on. That’s because each of the territories in this region features some of the world’s top players, including:

  • Christopher “Fexx” Wheddon of FaZe Clan for the UK.
  • Anssi “mxey” Pekkonen of Team Liquid for Finland.
  • Tim “Myca” Bodenseh of shiftW for Germany.
  • Furkan “Smashbae” Sanli of BBL Esports for Turkey.

For the prize pool, the top three teams get:
