The roguelike deck builder Summoners Fate is now available on Steam Early Access. It’s a game that features turn-based action combined with card-slinging spell combat. It's being offered at a 10% discount until June 28.

The game is inspired by classic tabletop games, such as Hero Quest and Talisman. One of the things that players should be aware of is that the game isn’t just about spell casting but also unit positioning. The latter, after all, is important in turn-based games.

Get the Perfect Deck

In between slaying enemies and DnD-style events, players can collect cards. Each Summoner is linked to two classes, including Arcane, Celestial, Nature, Void, and Chaos, and each class offers a different playstyle. Chaos, for example, has a lot of fire AOE spells that can do big damage. Meanwhile, Arcane gives players the ability to mind-control their enemies.

The deck in the game is capped at 20 cards. This means players can collect all the cards they want without disrupting their current build. The game also offers players the chance to change playstyles halfway through their adventure.

There is also what’s known as the Battle Mode where players can build a constructed deck using the cards that they discovered during their adventures. They can test this deck, along with two allied units, against a strong opponent.
