Nintendo has announced a special Nintendo Direct presentation for Splatoon 3, set to be live-streamed on the usual Nintendo channels tomorrow, August 10. According to the official announcement, this live stream will feature “roughly 30 minutes of updates” on the upcoming new game in the Splatoon series. So if you’re a big fan of Splatoon in general, you do not want to miss this one. Check out the official announcement from Nintendo below.

The Splatoon 3 Nintendo Direct presentation will be aired at the following times on August 10.

  • 6:00 a.m. PT
  • 9:00 a.m. ET
  • 9:00 p.m. HKT

Fans will be able to view the presentation on the official Nintendo YouTube channels for the Americas, Europe, and Japan.

As for what players can expect from the presentation, it’s a fair assessment to say that we will finally see proper gameplay for Splatoon 3 and how it will compare to the series’ earlier entries. We do know that players will be able to once again play as either Inklings or Octolings, two of the game world’s weird species. Splatoon 3 will feature new and returning weapons, from rollers to chargers and more. Nintendo confirmed beforehand that all weapons featured in previous Splatoon games will be making their way to Splatoon 3.

Online multiplayer battles, which have been the bread and butter of Splatoon 2’s gameplay, are making a return in Splatoon 3. The way it works is similar to a paint tag battle where two teams battle to maintain their colors across the whole arena with a larger surface area than their competitors. Also confirmed to make its return is the Salmon run co-op mode, plus another single-player campaign called “Return of the Mammalians.”

In just a few weeks, Nintendo will also start selling brand-new Splatoon 3 official Nintendo Switch OLED consoles across its retailers. Featuring designs and color schemes lifted from the series, this special edition Switch model will retail for $359.99, about $10 more than a regular OLED Switch. However, the special edition console will not include the actual Splatoon 3 game, so keep that in mind.

Splatoon 3 is launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch this September 9.
