Resident Evil 7 is finally getting that long-promised Not A Hero DLC, along with a new DLC pack and a whole new version of the main game. This information comes from a trailer released on the official Resident Evil YouTube page.

Let’s break down all three announcements. The first is the release of the Not A Hero DLC. This expansion, announced many months ago, stars Chris Redfield and takes place after the events of Resident Evil 7. According to a post on Twitter, Redfield is on the hunt forsomeone or something during the DLC, but what he’s after remains a mystery. This DLC may also see Redfield team up with Ethan from the main Resident Evil 7 campaign, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Due to the long delay, the Not A Hero DLC will be free to all Resident Evil 7 owners. The reason the DLC was delayed in the first place was because the development team didn’t feel it was ready. "Our aim for this content is to match the high quality of the main game," Producer Masachika Kawata said in a video back in April. "So we'll need more development time in order to achieve that goal."

The second DLC pack, End of Zoe, tells her story after the events of Resident Evil 7. It will be interesting to see what happens with her, since her fate was left a little open-ended at the conclusion of Resident Evil 7’s main campaign.

The last big news item from the trailer is Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition. This version of Resident Evil 7 includes the base game and all DLC. This includes the main game, Banned Footage Vol. 1, Banned Footage Vol. 2, End of Zoe and Not A Hero.

All three items will release on the same day, Dec. 12. End of Zoe will be available separately if you already own a copy of Resident Evil 7. No pricing information for End of Zoe or Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition have been released yet by Capcom.

So what do you think? Are you interested in exploring more of Zoe’s story in Resident Evil 7? Will you pick up a copy of the Gold Edition with all DLC included? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
