In Red Dead Online this week, there’s talk going around Annesburg about a buck that has a purely black coat along with a dark set of antlers. The Legendary Shadow Buck is known to avoid humans and may even flee when disturbed. However, it’s also been known to attack rather aggressively those that it considers a threat.
Like with any new Sighting Mission, Naturalists can start this one by going to Harriet Davenport at her shop. Those who manage to sedate this legendary creature and take a sample get rewarded with a free vest of their choice along with 100 rounds of Sedative Ammo that could very well be useful on the next expedition. Players that kill and skin the animal instead get a reward of 100 rounds of Express Repeater Ammo.
Over with Gus Macmillan and his trapper store, bringing him the pelt of the Shadow Buck is going to unlock the Shadow Coat for players to buy. Crafting this one lets players get a reward of a free Bandolier of their choice.
Vitalism Studies
This week, there’s also a little something for those interested in Vitalism Studies. According to Harriet, the recent discovery of the Harrietum Officinalis herb could have uncovered a new way to experience the life of a humble Buck. Indeed, following in the steps of the Buck Vitalism Studies Pamphlet is sure to give everyone a genuine out-of-body experience. Not only that, they can get a free Treasure Map as a reward. In order to learn more about Vitalism Studies, naturalists need to be at least Rank 5.

There’s a little something this week for those whose trigger fingers are itching or are looking for some competition. The Hardcore Takeover Series is handing out a reward for a free Hat of their choice this week to players.
