With Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon around the corner, fans are looking for any sort of news, and there are no shortage of rumors floating around the internet. The most common one revolves around Lycanroc and a possible third form.

The trailer for the Aug. 10 episode of the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime, “ Rockruff and the Guardian Diety of the Ruins of Life,” debuted following the release of the most recent episode.

In the trailer, Tapu Lele is seen kissing both Lycanroc Midday (presumably Kahuna Olivia’s Lycanroc) and Lycanroc Midnight (Gladion’s Lycanroc) before viewers see Ash’s Rockruff looking at the setting sun with green eyes, a power that seems to be resonating from Tapu Lele.

Take a look at the official trailer for the upcoming episode of the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime, which says Rockruff is ready to evolve.

There have been a lot of unsubstantiated rumors recently about Ultra Sun and Moon that include Lycanroc receiving a new form or two. This brief clip from the anime gives fans the best evidence for a new Lycanroc form being true.

Lycanroc was introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon with two different evolutions, Midday and Midnight forms, but the rumor of a third -- or even fourth -- form was always around when an empty slot near the Rock-type Pokémon was found in the Pokémon Global Link website’s code.

The code showed the number 745 (Lycanroc’s number) and that it had four forms. Of course, we know Midday and Midnight are two of them, but perhaps there are two more on the way. Many believe that there will be a Dusk and Dawn Lycanroc forms with Ash’s Rockruff in the anime seemingly evolving during Dusk.

Here’s a tweet from Serebii’s Joe Merrick showing the data pulled from the Pokémon Global Link website.

This wouldn’t be the first time a reveal for an upcoming Pokémon game was revealed in the anime. Before Pokémon X and Y were released, the anime special Pokémon Origins -- a retelling of Pokémon Red and Blue -- revealed that Red’s Charizard mega evolved into Mega Charizard X. This came after Mega Charizard Y was revealed, so the precedent for hte anime to reveal something about a game is there.

Of course, this is all speculation until official word from The Pokémon Company is released. Luckily, the upcoming episode drops on Aug. 10, so fans will know then if there is a new Lycanroc form coming to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will release for Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 17.
