Pokémon Go Welcomes Kyurem To Five-Star Raids This July

There may already be a lot of things happening this July, but it looks like it won’t be enough as Pokémon Go is coming up with more. To recap a bit, there’s the Pokémon Go Fest 2020, which is happening from July 25-26. Before that there’s also there also the weekly challenges.

Now it looks like Kyurem is all set to make its debut in the game. Starting on July 7 at 4:00 PM EDT, this Boundary Pokémon is going to be available in five-star raids. There are also going to be Raid Hour events that features this same Pokémon every Wednesday at 6:00 PM (local time).

Additionally, there is also going to be a Research Breakthrough encounter where Trainers can encounter the Rock Skin Pokémon Larvitar. Those lucky can even encounter a Shiny version. The event already started yesterday and is going to run until August 1 at 4:00 PM EDT.

Spotlight Hours

If those weren’t enough, July is also going to have a Pokémon Spotlight Hour that takes places every Tuesday at 6:00 PM local time. What’s going to happen is that for each hour, a different Pokémon is going to be in the spotlight along with a special bonus. These are:

  • Date: July 7
    • Spotlight: Taillow
    • Bonus: Earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon
  • Date: July 14
    • Spotlight: Zubat
    • Bonus: Earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon
  • Date: July 21
    • Spotlight: Oddish
    • Bonus: Earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon
  • Date: July 28
    • Spotlight: Buizel
    • Bonus: Earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon

Community Day

There’s also going to be a Community Day which is happening on July 19 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (local time). This month, the star is none other than the Pokémon whose body is made mostly of gas. That’s right! Gastly is going to be featured and it’s going to be appear more frequently in the wild during this event. There’s also a chance to encounter a Shiny Gastly.

Here are the other features for this Community Day:

  • Evolve Haunter (the evolved form of Gastly) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Gengar that knows Shadow Punch.
  • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise.
  • There’ll be a special one-time-purchase July Community Day Box which features:
    • 30 Ultra Balls
    • Elite Fast TM
    • two Incense
    • two Super Incubators
  • For $1, Trainers get to access the Community Day–exclusive Special Research story: The Great Gastly

So what do you get for taking part in this event? The first bonus is that Eggs now need 1/4 Hatch Distance when placed in Incubators while the event is ongoing. This bonus doesn’t stack with other active Hatch Distance bonuses. The second bonus is that Incense activated during the event is going to last for three hours.
