Pokémon GO Sustainability Week 2022 Starts April 20

Help the environment. Niantic

A new event is launching in Pokémon GO next week which sees the addition of a new Pokémon. The Sage Pokémon Oranguru is debuting on Sustainability Week 2022 from April 20 to April 25. That's not all as trainers also have the chance to encounter Shiny Cherubi, that is if they're lucky enough.

Timed Research

For those of you keeping a close watch on the dates, you'll probably realize by now that April's Community Day falls squarely in the middle of this event. On April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (local time), there's going to be Time Research available for everyone. Each phase needs trainers to adventure one kilometer to have an encounter with Cherubi.

It's not all online since there's also a real-world equivalent. For every Trainer who adventures five kilometers during Community Day, developer Niantic is going to plant a tree for a maximum of 100,000 trees.

Collection Challenge

There's also a nature-inspired Collection Challenge that trainers can take on. Those who finish it can contribute to their Elite Collector medal and earn a Mossy Lure Module and 15 Great Balls. In addition, two of the Pokémon that need to be caught, Gloom and Weepinbell, only appear when using a Mossy Lure Module.
