A new Pokémon is set to make its debut in Pokémon GO. This time, it’s the Flailing Pokémon Stufful joining the game, courtesy of the Community Day event this April. It’s on April 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., local time.

So during Community Day, Stufful appears more frequently in the wild. There’s also a special treat for all trainers. Those able to evolve Stufful during the event get a Bewear that has the Charged Attack Drain Punch. This particular Charged Attack provides Bewear with the needed defensive edge.

Three-Hour Format

Before we go into the details of the April Community Day, it’s important to look at some adjustments. In a post, the Pokémon GO development team revealed that they’re making changes to the format of Community Day. Back in 2020, the length of Community Day events was extended from three hours to six hours. However, the team shared that only 5% of trainers were able to join the event for more than three hours.

In addition, the team also received feedback that during the three-hour Community Day Classic back in January, more of the community was participating in the event. This is why April Community Day is going back to the three-hour format.

Event Bonuses

Going back to the April Community Day event, below are the event bonuses that trainers can look forward to:

  • 3× Catch XP
  • 2× Catch Candy
  • 2× chance to receive Stufful XL Candy from catching Stufful.
  • Incense activated during the event lasts for three hours.
  • Lure Modules activated during the event last for three hours.
  • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise.
  • 1 extra special trade can be made during the event and two hours after the event (maximum of 2 for the day).
  • Trades made during the event and two hours after the event will require 50% less Stardust.

Still on the matter of bonuses, trainers who work with others unlock additional bonuses in that location. If enough Pokémon are caught by trainers from a single Lure, the 3× XP bonus for catching Pokémon near the Lured PokéStop is increased to 4× XP for 30 minutes. This bonus though won’t stack with the base 3× catch XP bonus and instead replaces it for the duration.
