Netflix's 'Splinter Cell: Deathwatch' Release Date Confirmed Alongside New Action-Packed Trailer

The anime-style action based on 'Splinter Cell' is confirmed for Fall.

Netflix has officially shared the release date for "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch" almost a year after the streaming platform announced the series' development. The series will be an adaptation of the iconic novel franchise from American thriller and espionage author Tom Clancy.

Alongside the official release date confirmation, Netflix has also shared the first official trailer of "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch."

Netflix Confirms 'Splinter Cell: Deathwatch' Release Date

In the latest appearance of Netflix at the Anime NYC convention, the company has shared announcements regarding its upcoming original animated series, including the much-awaited "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch."

According to The Verge, Netflix has already given the upcoming spy-thriller action animated series a release date, and it is slated for October 14.

It was only last year when Netflix confirmed that it was indeed developing "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch" as an anime-style show in its Geeked '24 event, but this only confirmed its existence without providing any other supporting details.

'Splinter Cell: Deathwatch' Trailer Also Drops

Alongside the release date confirmation, Netflix also shared the first official teaser trailer of "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch," which features franchise's recurring main character, Sam Fisher.

Fisher is voiced by Liev Schreiber and is joined by Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Zinnia McKenna following her stint in another Netflix Original series, "The Sandman."

The trailer features the first official look at Fisher going into his usual espionage tactics and covert operations.

Despite the solid portrayal of Schreiber as Fisher and the exciting trailer shared by Netflix, fans still began to criticize the streaming company for not choosing the voice actor of Ubisoft's "Splinter Cell" games, Michael Ironside.

Other fans claim that they would rather see new gameplay than this Netflix adaptation, while some comments ponder whether this is a faithful adaptation or features a different story developed by the team.
