There is just a little over a week until Pokémon Go drops its biggest update yet. Go Beyond is sure to make many changes to the game, and it seems like these changes are going to be all for the better. To celebrate that upcoming update, there’s currently a 12 Days of Friendship event in Pokémon Go which you can read more about here.

We’re going to be tackling the different new content that’s arriving with the Go Beyond update. One of the biggest changes has to be the rebalance being made to the leveling up mechanics. The rebalance is going to be done on different features and systems in order to make the leveling up process more fun that ever. In addition, Trainers who managed to reach level 40 will be able to go on to level 50.

With the upcoming change, it’s going to be a good time to jump into Pokémon Go again, especially for those who haven’t played for quite a while. Why do we say that? Because when the new update drops on November 30, Trainers get to earn more XP from catching Pokémon, evolving Pokémon, hatching Eggs, and even registering new Pokédex entries. There’s also going to be cases where the XP earned will be double than what it is right now.

Reaching Level 40

Trainers who manage to reach Level 40 by December 31 at 11:59 PM, local time, earn the title of Legacy 40 Trainer along with some exclusive rewards.

Reaching Level 40 may be a bit easier this time since a double Catch XP bonus has been live which started on November 18. This bonus will be active all the way through to December 31 at 11:59 PM, local time. That’s not all as Trainers can also power their Pokémon to a higher CP that what was previously possible at each Trainer level.

Level 40 Trainers

For Trainers at Level 40, there’s still a lot of things to do. In particular, these Trainers get the chance to complete new Level-Up Research between levels. Here are some of the skills that are going to be tested in order for Trainers to reach the level:

  • Level 41: Pokémon catching skills.
  • Level 42: Knowledge of Pokémon Evolutions.
  • Level 43: Mastery of Gym Battles and Raid Battles.
  • Level 44: Trainer Battles.
  • Level 45: Taking down Team Go Rocket villains.
  • Level 46: Complete a number of Field Research tasks, hatch a certain number of Eggs, and document daily adventures using Go Snapshot.
  • Level 47: Win Raid Battles with teams.
  • Level 48: It’s all about your Buddy Pokémon.
  • Level 49: Relationship with other Trainers.
  • Level 50: Master all aspects of the game.

New Candy

Pokémon Go is also introducing what’s known as Candy XL. These candies can power up Pokémon to CP levels that are higher than before. Candy XL can be obtained in different ways including catching Pokémon or converting and combining Candy into Candy XL.

So what do you think? Is this enough to bring you back to the game? Have you already hit level 40? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
