Enjoy an event before the big day. Niantic

By now, you probably know that Pokémon Go has something big planned at the end of the month. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, the game is releasing its biggest update titled Go Beyond on November 30. The update will make big changes to Pokémon Go and introduce new content. You can read more about that here.

Now it’s clear that the update is still days away. The good news is that developer Niantic is launching an event to help Trainers worldwide prepare for the big change. The 12 Days of Friendship event started yesterday, November 18, and runs until November 30 at 4:00 PM EST.

Excited yet? Here are the details of this event:

  • Friendship levels increase faster than normal through:
    • Opening Gifts
    • Trading Pokémon
    • Battling together in Raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles
  • Receive an attack boost when you battle in raids with friends.
    • Be sure to pick up a Remote Raid Pass in the shop to raid with friends.
  • Earn increased XP from completing raids.
  • Trainers can open more Gifts each day.

That’s basically it, so have fun.

Time to Welcome New Pokémon

As we mentioned earlier, there’s going to be some new content arriving to the game with the Go Beyond update. One of the new additions is the arrival of Pokémon originally discovered from the Kalos region. These Kalos Pokémon will start appearing on December 2. These include:

  • Chespin
  • Quilladin
  • Chesnaught
  • Fennekin
  • Braixen
  • Delphox
  • Froakie
  • Frogadier
  • Greninja
  • Bunnelby
  • Diggersby
  • Fletchling
  • Fletchinder
  • Talonflame
  • Litleo
  • Pyroar
  • Klefki

Trainers can find these Pokémon in the wild, through Evolution, or by hatching Eggs. To celebrate the arrival of these Pokémon, there’s going to be a special event where they appear more often in the wild. It’s going to start on December 2 at 10:00 AM and run until December 8 at 10:00 PM, local time.

There’s also going to be a mysterious Pokémon that’s going to hatch from a one-star Raid Egg. Details of this will be released soon.

Keep watch over the coming days as we take a closer look on the new things arriving with Go Beyond.

November Events

Excited as we are with the upcoming update, there are still a lot of events happening this month. For example, Trainers in select cities get the chance to experience the City Spotlight event. Read more about that here.

The second Community Day for November is also happening this Saturday, November 21. It’s going to feature Magmar, so that should be exciting. Learn more about this event here. Finally, there’s Raid Bosses and Spotlight Hours. Follow the remaining November events here.
