Attention Pokémon GO trainers! A hero is needed once more and Team Instinct Leader Spark has his eye on you. It's time to get ready for a new event focused on hatching. Titled "An Instinctive Hero," it starts on May 2 at 10:00 a.m. (local time) and ends on May 8 at 8:00 p.m. (local time).

This event sees the official debut of Larvesta and Volcarona in the game. In particular, Larvesta is available to hatch from two-, five-, and 10-kilometer Eggs. Once they have Larvesta, they can use 400 Larvesta Candy and evolve the Torch Pokémon into Volcarona.

For this upcoming new event, the bonuses are:

  • Increased chance of hatching Shiny Pokémon from two-kilometer, five-kilometer, and 10-kilometer Eggs.
  • 2× XP for hatching Pokémon.
  • 2× Stardust for hatching Pokémon.

An Egg-Citing Time

It's not just Larvesta available to hatch from Eggs. These Pokémon are also hatching from seven-kilometer Eggs:

  • Mime Jr.
  • Happiny
  • Mantyke
  • Timburr
  • Karrablast
  • Axew
  • Shelmet
  • Goomy

By the way, trainers who are lucky enough may hatch Shiny Mantyke.

Do the Research

During the event, trainers can get access to a Special Research which features none other than Team Instinct Leader Spark. Those able to finish the research are rewarded with an encounter with Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory. This is the only way to encounter an Elekid wearing such a themed accessory in this season. As always, those lucky enough can encounter a Shiny version.

Event-themed Field Research tasks are available and these Pokémon are available to encounter after completing the tasks:

  • Magneton
  • Chansey
  • Electabuzz
  • Magmar
  • Snorlax
  • Mantine
  • Chimecho

Get Ready for Kung-Fu

In addition to a new event, trainers can also look forward to a new collaboration on May 2. It's between Pokémon GO and Kung Fu Tea.

Starting May 2, more than 350 Kung Fu Tea shops across the United States and Canada are going to be transformed into Gyms and PokéStops. Be sure to keep an eye out at these locations not just for upcoming Raid Battles but also for Kung Fu Tea discounts for trainers.

In celebration of this new collaboration, trainers can find limited-time themed cups featuring Team Instinct, Team Mystic, and Team Valor emblems in June.

Pokémon GO is available on Google Play and the App Store.
