With the Dec. 12 Pokémon Go announcement revealing new Pokémon coming to the popular mobile game, the question posed is whether the 100 new Pokémon from Gen 2 will make the jump or if the Legendary Pokémon from Kanto will finally appear.

Reports from data miners in the past seemed to confirm Gen 2 would be added around Dec. 12, but the latest Pokémon Go update reaffirms that Gen 2 is coming.

According to The Silph Road, the latest Android update includes 100 new Pokémon cries. In the previous version (v0.47) the audio files for species 1-151 were included. In v0.49, the audio files for species 1-251 (the next 100 species) have been included.

Not only are new cries included in the latest Pokémon Go update, we also have genders being added with Gen 2. The Silph Road states there is no indicator in the UI showing whether a Pokémon is male or female, but the distinction is present in the back end so they could affect gameplay behind the scenes.

More evidence for Shiny Pokémon are now in the Pokémon Go code. Again, there is no UI indicator showing what Pokémon are shinies but it seems Shiny Pokémon on your phone are going to become a reality very soon.

There is a lot more from The Silph Road’s data mining of the latest Pokémon Go update including Baby Pokémon, Trainer Customization and more so be sure to check it out and keep checking in with iDigitalTimes as we approach the Dec. 12 Pokémon Go announcement.
