Pokémon GO: Crackling Voltage Event Starts Friday

Are you ready to face something electric? You better be since the Crackling Voltage event in Pokémon GO is starting this Friday, January 27. During this event, trainers can encounter electric-type Pokémon more frequently in the wild. There's also the Legendary Pokémon Tapu Koko, returning to the game in Five-Star Raids. This event ends February 5.

Encounter Pokémon

For Wild Encounters, trainers can encounter these Pokémon more frequently in the wild:

  • Ekans
  • Magnemite
  • Grimer
  • Electrike
  • Stunky
  • Blitzle
  • Ferroseed
  • Helioptile
  • Grubbin

In addition, some trainers may have the chance to encounter:

  • Beldum
  • Dedenne

By the way, those lucky enough may encounter a Shiny Helioptile.

Prepare for Raids

For Raids, watch out for these Pokémon:

  • One-Star Raids
    • Alolan Grimer
    • Shinx
    • Bronzor
    • Klink
    • Helioptile
  • Three-Star Raids
    • Venomoth

By the way, Helioptile hatched from these Eggs have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon compared to Helioptile found in the wild.

New Takeover

Team GO Rocket is once again making their presence felt in the game, with a new takeover from February 1 to February 5. During the event, Team GO Rocket appears more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. In addition, trainers can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

Meanwhile, Team GO Rocket Grunts, along with leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, are using different Shadow Pokémon. Be sure to help Spark, Blanche, and Candela overcome their adversaries and help rescue the Shadow Pokémon.

Also, Team GO Rocket has turned some Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. Defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts to save:

  • Shadow Alolan Vulpix
  • Shadow Spoink
  • Shadow Blitzle
  • Shadow Joltik
