You can now play one of the greatest action games of all time in 4K and 60 frames per second on the Xbox One.

After a published listing on the Xbox store last Tuesday, Xbox has formally included Ninja Gaiden 2 in the Backward Compatibility program on the Xbox One family of consoles. The game was also one of the many announcements that came with the Inside Xbox presentation, which formally introduced the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition and the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Ninja Gaiden 2 has also received a visual enhancement for the Xbox One X, so owners of the console can look forward to playing the game in full 4K at 60 frames per second. The original Ninja Gaiden 2 released for the Xbox 360 in 2008. It received its first port along with graphical enhancements in the form of the PlayStation 3 exclusive Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, a follow-up to a similar port of Ninja Gaiden called Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

If you have an original physical copy of Ninja Gaiden 2, you can simply pop in the the disc into your Xbox One and begin playing immediately. The graphical enhancements also work straight away if you play on an Xbox One X. Microsoft goes on to say that the game runs at a significantly higher resolution and features at least nine times the pixel count if played on the Xbox One X.

In addition to this, Microsoft is rolling out some updates for Xbox One X compatibility of five previous backward compatible games, namely, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Splinter Cell Conviction, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Fable 2 and Fable 3.
