Looks like the cold-blooded assassin is getting a new skin. Blizzard

The opening ceremony of the Overwatch League grand finals gave fans a huge surprise. That is because a new unreleased skin for Widowmaker reportedly flashed on the screen during the event, and fans cannot help but get excited.

The new Widowmaker skin comes in pink and blue colors, and it even sports a well-known logo on it. The skin, which was teased at the aforementioned tournament, is in collaboration with DJ and music producer Anton Zaslavski, better known as Zedd, who also performed during the grand finals’ opening ceremony.

Although the new Overwatch skin is heavily tied with the artist’s performance, it remains to be seen as to whether or not Blizzard will make it official in the game. It is quite likely that it was only there as part of the DJ’s performance.

Still, the Zedd-themed Widowmaker skin is without a doubt a very cool concept and it deserves a spot in the game’s skin collections. Not only did it have a nice element courtesy of the organizers, but the Overwatch team is believed to have created it ahead of Zedd’s performance. Sadly for DJ Khaled, he did not have his own skin when he performed during last year’s grand finals.

If the new Widowmaker skin really finds its way to Overwatch, then it will surely be the first of its kind. It is worth noting that Blizzard has been known for releasing skins specifically meant to commemorate players and Overwatch League teams. The only catch, though, is that it has yet to create and release one meant to celebrate the musical performance, and this could very well be the first of its kind.

For now, it is best to take this with a grain of salt. But if the Overwatch skin ends up getting a lot of traction from fans, there is no doubt that Blizzard will make an exception. After all, it did the same thing in the past when players were hoping for a Frankenstein skin for Roadhog.
