A new 15-minute gameplay video of Resident Evil 3 Remake has found its way online. The video follows the beloved character Jill Valentine through several different areas, from claustrophobic hallways to open streets. The game looks very similar to its predecessor, but with some tweaks. You can watch the footage below.

Resident Evil 3 Remake development began alongside the RE2 Remake, so maybe that’s the reason behind the similarities between the two titles. However, RE3 Remake does make some welcomed changes. The game is more action-packed than its predecessor. Streets are more open, which allows players to be more mobile. The remake also retains close-quarters areas to make players feel more vulnerable.

Mr. X has now been replaced by Nemesis, who, to be honest, is scary AF. Nemesis is stronger and faster than his predecessor, and also has tentacles that he can use to grab the player if they come within a certain range. In the footage, we saw Nemesis jumping in front of Jill while she tried to run away from him. It seems like dealing with him will be more interesting, whereas with Mr. X, you just had to run away.

That’s not all, as Resident Evil 3 Remake will be lacking one major feature which was present in the original. The game is ditching the Live Selection option, a feature that forces the player to choose between two options which will later decide the outcome of the game. In an interview with GameSpot, RE3 co-producer Pete Fabiano explained why they decided to remove Live Selection. "So with this [remake], the director wanted to tell a consistent story with Jill, and how she and Carlos overcome Nemesis and eventually escape Raccoon City," Fabiano said in the interview. "We just wanted to keep it cohesive, so that you'll have a singular, more consistent narrative throughout."

Resident Evil 3 Remake is set to launch on April 3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows PCs. The game will be bundled with a free multiplayer component called Resident Evil: Resistance as well.
