Two new champions are making their presence known in Marvel Contest of Champions . Wiccan and Hulkling will arrive in the game courtesy of Legacies. There's a bit of a wait though since Hulkling is scheduled to drop on June 16 and Wiccan on June 30.

In Legacies, Nova and The Summoner have discovered a Skrull ship lurking around in the Kree territory. It's being piloted by Super-Skrull and Wiccan. According to the young wizard, they are looking for Hulkling who has been abducted by none other than Ronan the Accuser. They are now asking for help, but there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Should Wiccan trust the Super Skrull? Can Nova help stop a Kree-Skrull War?

New Champions

For those not familiar with these characters, Wiccan is William "Billy" Kaplan. He is a reincarnation of the son of Scarlet Witch that was created through Chaos Magic but later dispelled. After discovering that he had powers, Billy was later recruited to the New Avengers. He initially chose to name himself after Thor but later on decided to change his codename to Wiccan.

Hulkling is Theodore "Teddy" Altman, a mutant with shapeshifting powers and super-strength. One day, he was hunted down by the Super-Skrull and told that he was a Kree and Skrull hybrid. He is also a member of the Skrull royal family, which led to Teddy accepting his role to be the once and future King of Space, the emperor of the united Kree/Skrull alliance, and the one who wields the mythical star-sword named Excelsior.

New Series

A new miniseries is set to premiere this June 8 on Ms. Marvel. It focuses on Kamala Khan, who has been having trouble fitting in until she gets her own powers.

To celebrate this upcoming release, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) is joining the rosters of new and existing Summoners free starting June 8. This offer ends July 20.

New Update

The new champions join the game through Patch V35.1, which also makes changes to some of the Acts. These were done to make sure that Act 6 is more accessible and has a more natural difficulty curve like the other Acts. Changes include:

  • All Class and Rarity Gates in Act 6.2 have been removed.
  • Choice Nodes added just prior to Final Bosses for all of Act 6.
  • Energy Cost per Step reduced in Acts 5 and 6.
  • Removed Burden of Might, Aspect of Death, Dismay and Prove Yourself Link Nodes from Quest 6.2.6 to make The Champion less punishing on repeat playthroughs.
  • All fights (excluding the Grandmaster Boss of Act 6.4.6) have had their Attack and Health values retuned.
