League of Legends Patch 11.19 is currently on PBE and it is expected to go to the live servers next week. That said, its biggest feature is the addition of Vex, the Gloomist.

Vex’s Abilities

Vex has a pretty interesting kit. Her passive, Doom ‘n’ Gloom, has two effects. First, every 25 to 16 seconds, Vex becomes afflicted with Doom which causes her next basic ability to cast Fear on enemies for a short duration and interrupt dashes as well.

The second effect happens when a nearby enemy Champion blinks or dashes. When they do, they are marked with Gloom for six seconds. The affected enemies will get increased damage from Vex’s next attack and it also reduces the cooldown of Doom in the process.

When using her Mistral Bolt (Q) ability, Vex launches a wave of mist that deals magic damage. The initial cast sends a larger wave, which then becomes smaller after a short delay. The smaller wave travels faster.

Personal Space (W) shields Vex for a few seconds and emits a shockwave that deals magic damage. This ability will consume Gloom on enemies hit.

Vex’s Looming Darkness (E) ability is where she sends her companion, Shadow, to fly to a certain location, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies down for a couple of seconds. It also applies Gloom to those unfortunate enough to be in its vicinity.

Her ultimate ability, Shadow Surge (R) is where she commands Shadow to surge forward, dealing magic damage. Enemy Champions that are hit will be marked. When recast, Vex will teleport to a marked Champion, dealing additional magic damage upon arrival.

Plus, marked Champions killed within six seconds will temporarily reset the ultimate’s cooldown, allowing you to cast it again for a brief period.
