Borderlands 3 is starting its latest event today, which focuses on Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite. While this mini event was initially set to end by Friday, it has since been extended to April 2. With the new Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock content set to be released tomorrow, this new event hopes to give everyone in the Borderlands community some additional entertainment.

In this Takedown Shakedown event, the mini-boss and the end boss encounters in the Maliwan Blacksite are going to have increased drop chances for items from their dedicated loot pools. However, not anybody can simply join this event. Players need to have completed the main story campaign before they can unlock the mission that allows them access to the endgame challenge that is Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite.

Why this requirement, you ask? This is because in Takedowns, the difficulty scales to the party size. This is why the event is aimed at max-level characters that are equipped with powerful gear. For those looking for a real challenge, try the True Takedown Mode with a party of four Vault Hunters.

Other mini-events are planned to be released in the coming weeks. April, for example, is going to offer Mayhem 2.0 and The Revenge of the Cartels seasonal events.

Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock is all about Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs announcing that they are finally tying the knot, and everyone is invited. If pop culture is to be followed, there are always hitches in weddings and this one is no exception. It looks like one of the grooms has crossed paths with a cult that worships a Vault Monster's corpse. In order for the wedding to proceed, players need to go through a whole lot of mutated and tentacled zealots.

Borderlands 3 is the fourth game in the Borderlands franchise and was released in September 2019 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A version for the Google Stadia was later released in December 2019. In the game, players can choose one of four classes and complete quests and side missions in either single-player or co-op.
