For many people, the phrase “The Dynamic Duo” often refers to Batman and Robin. But some know that the better duo is none other than Jay and Silent Bob. If you’re a fan, then be prepared to be excited since the game Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl is finally coming to consoles.
The game is coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 20 and is available digitally with a special physical release. The game was released last year on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The Dynamic Who?
Jay and Silent Bob were first introduced to pop culture through Clerks and played by Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith, respectively. Since then, they have appeared in other films like Mallrats and Dogma that's been called by fans the View Askewniverse. They've also starred in their own films Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
The Game
In the game, the two are involved in the sabotage of the “Truth of Date” broadcast being filmed in the mall. As a result, they’re now being chased by the chief of security LaFours and his lackeys. The two need to fight their way across the mall and make it to the Quick Stop. Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl offers players the complete 8-bit retro beat-em-up experience. The game can be played solo with the player allowed to swap between the two characters. It also offers a two-player co-op experience. Other features of the game include:

- Rogues gallery of View Askew Enemies
- A boss with a huge fist
- A boss with a pretzel for a head
- Contemporary gameplay mechanics
- Crisp original chiptune soundtrack
Console Versions
In a post, Interabang Entertainment revealed that the new version offers higher-quality visuals along with a remixed soundtrack. Those who have the original version don’t have to worry since a free update is arriving to add new features.
Physical Version
A digital version of the game is offered for consoles at $14.99. PlayStation 4 players get special treatment with an offer for a physical edition. It comes in two versions with the Standard Edition priced at $29.99, and the Collector’s Edition offered at $54.99, which comes with:
- A physical version of Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl on PlayStation 4.
- Retro cartridge sleeve that fits the standard game case.
- 12 Song 8-Bit Mall Brawl Soundtrack.
- 18’ x 24’ Reversible Poster.
