With two months left in the year, Pokémon Go is set to release even more events before 2020 gets here. Trainers can look forward to in-game festivities that should let them explore different Pokémon types and even introduce Legendary Pokémon.

Supereffective Week

If you've been a Pokémon trainer for a while, you should know that Fairy-type moves are super effective when going against Fighting-type Pokémon. If not, did you know that Psychic-type Pokémon are weak when fighting against Bug-type moves.

If you want to learn more about Pokémon types, then you get a chance with Supereffective Week. Trainers may discover an exciting Pokémon that they can partner up with when fighting against Team GO Rocket.

Supereffective week begins on November 19 at 4:00 PM EST and ends on November 26 at 4:00 PM EST. During this week, trainers can expect:

  • Pokémon that might be strong partners in battle against Team GO Rocket and other Trainers will be appearing more often in the wild, in raids, and in Field Research.
  • If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Tentacool.

For this event, the bonuses offered are:

  • 2× Stardust from Trainer Battles
  • More Potions and Revives from PokéStops
  • Guaranteed Charged TM from three-star raids

Five-Star Raids

There's also some good news for trainers: the Cavern Pokémon Terrakion is arriving to five-star raids. According to stories, this Rock-type and Fighting-type Legendary Pokémon is said to be strong enough to destroy an entire castle. If you're up for the task, you can use Water-, Grass-, Fighting-, Ground-, Psychic-, Steel-, and Fairy-type Pokémon to help fight against it.

This event starts on November 26 at 4:00 PM EST and lasts until December 17 at 4:00 PM EST.

Friends Fest

Pokémon Go announced that it's going to have its first-ever Friend Fest. With this, trainers can celebrate with family and friends. The event starts on November 27 at 4:00 PM EST and lasts all the way until December 2 at 4:00 PM EST.

During this event trainers can encounter family-themed Pokémon in the wild, as well as in research tasks. These Pokémon include Nidoran♀, Nidoran♂, and their Evolutions, among others.

Bonuses for those who participate in this event include:

  • 1/2 Stardust trade cost
  • You can make two special trades per day
  • Attack boost when you raid with friends

Update

Pokémon Go also announced that Niantic Wayfarer is now live. This tool is available to level 40 Trainers and is used to help determine PokéStops and Gyms. In addition, level 40 Trainers around the world can now submit PokéStop and Gym nominations within Pokémon Go. You can read more about that here.
