There’s no question that the pandemic has made people stressed and ultimately tired. If developer FrogVibes is to be believed, then its latest offering could be something that a lot of people could appreciate. That’s because the game Here Comes Niko! boasts being a game for tired people.
Being tired appears to be the main reason why the game was developed in the first place. In an interview, the team at FrogVibes said that they were becoming too tired to play games that they usually liked. So, the team decided to work on a game that could be played even if they didn’t have the energy to do anything else.
Here Comes Niko! is a 3D platformer aimed at exhausted people. Despite that, there seem to be many things to do within the game like solving puzzles, catching fish, and making new friends. However, it’s not without purpose. FrogVibes shared that since they wanted a game that didn’t have any tension, thus taking damage and dying won’t be part of it. Instead, the team looked into what kind of activities were considered relaxing. Once they are decided, they just put a twist.
For example, when it comes to fishing, players attach themselves to the fishing rod and jump into the water to catch fish.
The game has players take on the role of Niko, an employee at Tadpole Incorporated who works as a “professional friend.” As Niko, players are tasked to go to different islands and help everyone they meet. In addition, the boss is actually a frog. Simple right?
The game is now available on Steam priced at $24.99. There is a Deluxe Edition Bundle that includes the soundtrack and is currently being offered at a 10% discount. So far, the game has very positive reviews on Steam.
