It took a while but it’s finally here. Glyph is now available on PC through Steam.
In the game, players take on the role of Glyph, a sphere that mainly rolls but has extra features. Old school gamers should be familiar with its mechanics since it’s like Marble Madness. While the game is ideal for those who want to do speed runs, it offers casual players with vast levels for exploration and collection.
In addition to being on a new platform, the PC version offers a more accessible level selection system as well as full controller support. Switch players need not worry since any improvements made on PC will be implemented later on the console.
Changes Made
Glyph was first released on Switch back in January. That time it was found out that the game was rather difficult. Because of this, developer Bolverk Games made adjustments based on player feedback. In particular, the learning curve was flattened a bit to allow the game to be more forgiving. This increased the game's popularity.
Features of the game include:
- With at least 80 levels in Exploration mode, players need to put effort if they want to see everything.
- The Time Trial mode offers 30 levels to test your skills.
- More than 100 secrets and upgrades are available even from the beginning.
- A wicked mean final boss.
In a statement, CEO Bo Bennekov said that they are pretty confident releasing on Steam, notably after the reception is received on Switch. He added that with this, the game should have a wider audience.
Lead Game Designer Jesper Halfter, meanwhile, revealed that this isn’t actually the first time the game transitioned to a different platform. It actually started as a VR title before making its way to Steam.
The game is priced at $19.99, but right now at Steam, it’s being offered at a 15% discount. The official soundtrack is also offered separately at $5.99.
