PUBG Free Play Week for Steam Starts Today

Summer is usually a good time to enjoy with friends. For some areas in the world, however, that remains difficult due to the ongoing pandemic. So what better way to meet up with friends than to go online?

That becomes a bit easier with PUBG offering Free Play Week. This one starts today, August 10, and runs until August 16. There’s a lot of rewards to be earned and it even includes Pass and Mission rewards as well as XP and BP. In addition, all missions and stats are recorded so everyone can keep track of their achievements. There are also new events for everyone to enjoy.

This promotion is only available via Steam.

For Free Play Week, the different missions and rewards are:

  • Mission: Parachute
    • Description: Travel 600 meters in total by parachute.
    • Reward: Sleeveless Cheetah Top
  • Mission: Ledge grab
    • Description: Ledge grab over obstacles two times.
    • Reward: Utility Belt (Brown)
  • Mission: Use two emotes
    • Description: Use emotes two times to express an emotion in a single match.
    • Reward: Rugged (Beige) - M16A4
  • Mission: Survive
    • Description: Survive for 200 minutes in total.
    • This includes the time for spectating your teammate in duo/squad mode.
    • Reward: Wrangler Shirt
  • Mission: Loot items
    • Description: Loot 300 items in total.
    • Reward: Wide Pants (Red)

Special Drops

In addition to Free Play Weekend, there is also the Special Drops – Summer Season. The exclusive periods are:

  • PC
    • August 4 to August 17
  • Console
    • August 12 to August 25

Full Game

Once Free Play Weekend ends, it’s also a good time to get the full copy of the game. That’s because a lot is happening right now.

There’s the ongoing collaboration with K-pop girl group Blackpink, which should be a treat to players who are also Blinks. Read more about that collaboration here.

New features are being tested as well over at Labs. This time, it’s Zombie Survival, and when it goes live, it is a good way to test one’s skills against the undead. Learn about it here.

PUBG is an online multiplayer battle royale game where 100 players are dropped into a single map and battle to be the last one to survive. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. There is also a mobile version for Android and iOS.
