The Masters Tour returns to Hearthstone this weekend with the Masters Tour Orgrimmar. Matches start on April 30 with the Finals on May 2. At least 400 players, coming from more than 45 countries, have been invited and are ready to fight for a share of the $250,000 prize pool.
For this tournament, players who get at least seven wins earn points and a chance for an invite to the Grandmasters 2021 Season 2. Today, we take a closer look into the details of this upcoming tournament.
Tournament Format
The Masters Tour Orgrimmar is played in the four-deck, best-of-five Conquest with a ban format. Players who get a 7–2 standing automatically qualify for the Masters Tour Dalaran. Here’s what will happen for three days:
- Day 1
- Five rounds of Swiss.
- Day 2
- Four rounds of Swiss.
- The Top 16 battle in a single-elimination round.
- Day 3
- Top 8 players compete in the playoffs.
- The new Masters Tour Champion is crowned after the Final.

Drops are Back
Fans who watch the competition this week have the chance to earn as much as two Year of the Phoenix card packs. To get the packs, simply watch from any of the channels mentioned above. Watching for two hours gives players one pack while watching for an additional two give another pack. The time watched is cumulative, meaning it’s okay not to finish the two hours in one sitting.
To get the drop though, viewers have to link their YouTube account to their Battle.net account.
The Masters Tour
For 2021, there are six Masters Tours competitions. Masters Tour Orgrimmar is the second for the year. The first was Masters Tour Ironforge that took place from March 12 to 14. Its current champion is Huang “Xiaobai” Dehui who swept Michaël “Maverick” Looze in the Finals at 3–0.
The third is Masters Tour Dalaran scheduled on June 18 to 20.
