Hearthstone Launching Battlegrounds Brawl Event This Wednesday

Read up Hearthstone fans! If you’re one of those looking for interesting matches, then you’re in luck. That’s because Battlegrounds Brawl is back and it’s going to be this Wednesday, May 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A total of 16 creators are divided into four teams to fight for a large share of the $100,000 pie.

Making the competition more exciting are the casters Dan "Frodan" Chou and Jacinta Patricia "Jia" Dee.

The Teams

The Battlegrounds Brawl: Battle of the Boars will be broadcasted live on Hearthstone’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. It’s also set to be streamed through the channels of the creators themselves, which are:

Tournament Mechanics

In this competition, two games are going to be played simultaneously each round with two members of each team taking part per game. At the end of each round, points are awarded based on the placement of every individual competitor and added to the total point score of the team. The points are:

  • 1st place finish = 5 points awarded
  • 2nd place finish = 4 points awarded
  • 3rd place finish = 2 points awarded
  • 4th place finish = 1 point awarded

The final placement and prizing are then determined by the total point score of each team after seven rounds.

Twitch Drops

In celebration of the return of Battlegrounds Brawl, Hearthstone is offering Twitch Drops from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the same day. All fans need to do is watch two hours of any Hearthstone stream on Twitch, consecutively or not. In return, they get one Forged in the Barrens pack. Watching a total of four hours gives another pack.

To get Twitch drops, fans must link their Battle.net account to their Twitch accounts. Here’s how to do it:

  • Log in or create an account on Twitch.tv.
  • Navigate to the Settings menu by clicking your account name in the top-right corner of the home screen.
  • Navigate to the Connections tab of the Settings menu.
  • Find the Battle.net section, then follow the instructions after selecting a region and clicking Connect.
  • When connecting accounts, be sure that you’re currently logged in to the Battle.net account on which you’d like to receive your rewards.
